American Standard Code for Information Interchange, is character coding based on the alphabet. ASCII codes are used in computers & other devices that work with text. Each character has its own binary number & hexadecimal number so a computer can understand characters as computer do not understand characters, they only understand binary which are 1s and 0s such as 00110101.
